About Rajiv Kumar, MD

Rajiv Kumar, MD, is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of corneal disorders, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery with intraocular lens placement, and refractive surgery including LASIK, PRK and ICL. He also practices general, comprehensive ophthalmology. 

Dr. Kumar has been practicing in the Denver metro area since 2005. He treats his patients the way he would treat his own family. He enjoys the relationships he has built with his patients over the years. Because of thorough preoperative screening, personal patient education, and state-of-the-art equipment, his patients have enjoyed excellent visual outcomes. Since fall of 2024, he has joined the Mile High Eye Institute bringing with him years of experience and a passion for helping his patients.

Dr. Kumar completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and medical school at the University of Utah. He excelled during his training at the prestigious Moran Eye Center, considered one of the top ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship programs in the country. 

Dr. Kumar enjoys golfing the beautiful courses of Colorado, going to music concerts at Red Rocks, traveling and experiencing new places, and spending time with his wife, 3 kids, and 3 dogs.
